Admission Requirements
 
1. Eligibility
Eligibility as prescribed by the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur for admission to the B. Pharm Course are as follows:
  • No candidate shall be admitted to B.Pharm first year unless he/she has passed Senior Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Standard-XII of the Board or an examination recognized by the University as equivalent thereto) in all the optional subjects and the compulsory subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science).
  • Admission of candidates to B.Pharm first year shall be made as per the rules / directions of the central admission authority / State Government.
2. Lateral entry to Diploma holders in B.Pharm second year
  • Lateral entry in B.Pharm second year is allowed to the students who have passed a Diploma in Pharmacy course with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (or as prescribed by the competent authority) from an AICTE and PCI approved institution. In addition to sanctioned intake at first year level, 10% of the sanctioned intake will be reserved for such lateral entry. The admission through lateral entry in B.Pharm second year shall be made as per the rules / directions of the central admission authority/State Government.

1. Duration of the course
The duration of the B.Pharm course shall be of four academic years, with each academic year spread over a period of at least 25 weeks excluding the days spent in the examinations.

Admission Procedure
 
1.For B. Pharm.
Admissions of candidates to D. Pharm. shall be made in order of merit on the basis Rajasthan Pre Pharmacy Test [RPPT] conducted by Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur, in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science in the manner to be decided by it. The candidates may obtain general guidelines and the Application Form for appearing at RPPT for admission to Pharmacy colleges in Rajasthan from the assigned University / Institution or from the centers as notified in the newspapers by the said University / Institution, on payment of prescribed charges.
The exact dates and details about RPPT are being advertised by the University / Institution in leading newspapers of Rajasthan.
Admissions on management quota seats are made by college. The candidates who have appeared in entrance test conducted by State Government are eligible to apply for these seats. An advertisement to this effect is issued in all editions of State level newspaper. The admissions are made on the basis of RPPT merit.
 
2. Examinations
Candidates for the B.Pharm course shall be instructed and examined as per the Teaching and Examination Scheme and Course Content of respective year. Candidates shall be examined by  sessional exam and university examination.
Sessional examinations (Internal assessment)
 
Theory (20 marks):
There shall be three theory sessional of 20 marks each in every subject during the year as per the test schedule notified in advance. The test schedules are based on weekly basis. The sessional test of the respective subject will be conducted in the First Period (Test Period) on every Monday. If due to any reason, there is a holiday on Monday then the sessional will be held on next working day in the First Period.

For the purpose of computation of sessional marks, the average of best two performances [(20+20) / 2] shall be taken into consideration. Duration of each sessional test shall be of one hour. In each test paper, there shall be three questions of 10 marks each. Students are required to attempt any two questions. Each question may have Internal choice.

The actual performance in sessional test (10 marks):
There shall be three practical sessional of 10 marks each during the year. The practical sessional of a subject will be conducted in the same week in which the theory sessional of that subject is being held on the respective practical turns. The average of best two performance [(10+10) / 2] shall form the basis for computation of sessional marks. Each test will be conducted in three parts viz. Synopsis / Spotting, Exercise / Experiment and Viva-Voce etc.
Day-to-Day class work including practical record (10 marks):
Every student has to perform a given number of experiments (as per the list available in each laboratory) in each practical subject. Each experiment shall carry 10 marks and marks obtained in day-to-day class work will be calculated by taking cumulative average of all the marks. While awarding the marks, the following points shall be considered.
Regularity / Attendance of student; and Actual practical performed by the student.
 
University Examination
There shall be a main and a supplementary university examination in a year as per the Teaching and Examination Scheme and Course Content for B.Pharm first year, second year, third year and final year. Main examination shall be held in the month of March/April or on such dates as may be fixed by the University. Supplementary examination shall be conducted within 30 days of the declaration of the result or on such dates as may be fixed by the university.
 
Professional training
Every candidate, after the completion of B.Pharm Part-III or B.Pharm Part-IV course, shall undergo professional training in a training center (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Unit / Analytical Laboratory / Bulk Drug Manufacturing Unit / Hospital Pharmacy / Drug store) allotted by academic institution. The professional training shall be of not less than 200 hours to be covered in not less than one month. Candidate shall prepare and submit two copies of training report in prescribed format printed or type written in bound form. One copy is to be submitted to the institute on or before the prescribed date for evaluation and one copy to be retained by the candidate for his / her own reference. The report shall contain the certificate of training from the head of the respective training center and shall be duly accepted and certified by the head of the institution.
Marks for professional training shall be awarded on the basis of training report, interview and viva voce by a board consisting of training in-charge and one examiner (appointed by the head of the institution) and the head of the institution or his nominee who shall be the chairman of the board.
 
Project
Before the end of B.Pharm Part-III, for each candidate, a project supervisor shall be appointed by the head of the institution. The candidate shall choose a project topic in consultation with the supervisor. A synopsis on the project topic should be prepared in the prescribed format and submitted to the head of the institution for approval. Candidate shall carry out literature survey on the approved topic during B.Pharm Part-IV under the guidance of the supervisor.
Candidate shall prepare three copies of his / her project report in prescribed format printed or type written in bound form. One copy is to be submitted to the academic institution and one to the supervisor on or before the prescribed date for evaluation and one copy to be retained by the candidate for his/her own reference. The project report should contain a copy of approved synopsis and certificate from the supervisor, certifying that the work has been undertaken and written under his/her supervision and guidance and meets the requirements of the course, countersigned and duly forwarded by the head of the institution.
Marks for project shall be awarded on the basis of project report, seminar and viva voce by a board consisting of supervisor, one examiner (appointed by the head of the institute) and the head of the institute or his nominee who shall be the chairman of the board.
