| Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm.) |
Lachoo Memorial College of Science and Technology, Pharmacy Wing, Jodhpur provides teaching & training facilities for students who opt for Diploma in Pharmacy. The examinations and the awarding of the diploma for this particular course is carried out by Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur. The entire teaching and training programme as well as the conduct of examinations etc., are in accordance with the Educational Regulations framed by the Pharmacy council of India which is the recognizing authority. |  |

| Admission Requirements |
| |
Eligibility as prescribed by the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur for admission to the Diploma Course in Pharmacy are as follows: Any of the following examination in all the optional subjects and compulsory subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and / or Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science including English as one of the compulsory subjects): |
- Intermediate examination in Science.
- The first year of the three year degree course in Science.
- 10 + 2 examination (Academic Stream) in Science.
- Pre–Degree examination.
- Minimum age is 17 year
- Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examination.

DURATION OF COURSE |

The duration of the course shall be for to academic years, with each academic year spread over a period of not less than one hundred and eighty working days in addition to 500 hours practical training spread over a period of not less than 3 months. |

| COURSE OF STUDY |

| The course of study for Diploma in Pharmacy Part-I and Diploma in Pharmacy Part-II shall include the subjects as given in the Tables I and II respectively below. The numbers of hours devoted to each subject for teaching are given against columns 2 and 3 of the tables below. |

PRACTICAL TRAINING |
| |
After having appeared in Part-II examination of Diploma in Pharmacy conducted by Board/University or other approved examination Body or any other course accepted as being equivalent by the Pharmacy Council of India, a candidate shall be eligible to undergo practical training in one or more of the following institutions namely: |

Hospitals/Dispensaries run by Central/State Governments/Municipal Corporation/Central Government Health Scheme and Employees State Insurance Scheme. -
A pharmacy, Chemist and Drugist licensed under the drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 made under the drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 (23 of 1940). |
| EXAMINATIONS |
| |
| Candidates for the D.Pharm course shall be instructed and examined as per the Plan and scheme of examination for the diploma in pharmacy. Candidates shall be examined by sessional exam and university examination. |

| SESSIONAL EXAMINATIONS (INTERNAL ASSESSMENT) |
| |
| Theory (20 marks) |
There shall be three theory sessional of 20 marks each in every subject during the year as per the test schedule notified in advance. The test schedules are based on weekly basis. The sessional test of the respective subject will be conducted in the First Period (Test Period) on every Monday. If due to any reason, there is a holiday on Monday then the sessional will be held on next working day in the First Period. For the purpose of computation of sessional marks, the average of best two performances [(20+20) / 2] shall be taken into consideration. Duration of each sessional test shall be of one hour. In each test paper, there shall be three questions of 10 marks each. Students are required to attempt any two questions. Each question may have Internal choice. |

| The following system shall be followed in allotting marks for practical sessional: |

| The actual performance in sessional test (10 marks): |
There shall be three practical sessional of 10 marks each during the year. The practical sessional of a subject will be conducted in the same week in which the theory sessional of that subject is being held on the respective practical turns. The average of best two performance [(10+10) / 2] shall form the basis for computation of sessional marks. Each test will be conducted in three parts viz. Synopsis / Spotting, Exercise / Experiment and Viva-Voce etc. |

| Day-to-Day class work including practical record (10 marks): |
Every student has to perform a given number of experiments (as per the list available in each laboratory) in each practical subject. Each experiment shall carry 10 marks and marks obtained in day-to-day class work will be calculated by taking cumulative average of all the marks. While awarding the marks, the following points shall be considered |
| Regularity / Attendance of student; and |
| Actual practical performed by the student. |
There shall be an examination for Diploma in Pharmacy (Part-I) to examine students of the first year course and an examination for Diploma in Pharmacy (Part-II) to examine students of the second year course. Each examination may be held twice every year. The first examination in very shall be the annual examination and the second examination shall be supplementary examination of the Diploma in Pharmacy (Part-I) or Diploma in Pharmacy (Part-II) as the case may be. The examinations shall be of written and practical (including oral) nature, carrying maximum marks for each part of subject, as indicated in Table III and IV: R-29. |

| Admission Procedure |

| For D. Pharm. |
Admissions of candidates to D. Pharm. shall be made in order of merit on the basis Rajasthan Pre Pharmacy Test [RPPT] conducted by Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur, in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science in the manner to be decided by it. The candidates may obtain general guidelines and the Application Form for appearing at RPPT for admission to Pharmacy colleges in Rajasthan from the assigned University / Institution or from the centers as notified in the newspapers by the said University / Institution, on payment of prescribed charges. The exact dates and details about RPPT are being advertised by the University / Institution in leading newspapers of Rajasthan. |

Admissions on Management Quota Seats are made by college. The candidates who have appeared in entrance test conducted by State Government are eligible to apply for these seats. An advertisement to this effect is issued in all editions of State level newspaper. The admissions are made on the basis of RPPT merit. |
